Through the Looking Glass

November 2017

This was the first project I costume designed and technical directed! It was a musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's novel Through the Looking Glass and was a show with so much tech that needed so much creativity- from anthropomorphic chess pieces to quick changes to a large ensemble. This show was initially so daunting, and, in all honesty, thinking about this show made me cringe until recently.

This show helped me form my strategies for costume organization- charts for quick changes, wardrobe check-ins, and my labeling system. This show also taught me to think more creatively and abstractly about what we should and shouldn't put on stage (I cannot tell you how long this version of me was stumped on putting a lion on stage).
