ABOUT ME

My Journey:

Though I am creative, ambitious, and compassionate- above all else, I am a dreamer!

Growing up, I was an only child who moved from place to place frequently. Ultimately, I found solace and familiarity in stories. TV shows, comic books, and films (such as Doctor Who, Twin Peaks, and The Lord of The Rings), inspired me to write my own stories to keep myself both grounded and entertained.

Later, when I was 13, my mom would have four more kids that (in all honesty) would make me both more responsible and an even better storyteller and imaginer in order to keep up with their attention spans!

Coming to USC, in itself, was a dream come true. As a small-town Missouri girl, I dreamed of bigger cities and more opportunities to pursue theatre. I worked extremely hard as a dual-enrolled high schooler/college student to beef up my resume and experience. It seems my portfolio and interviews were a success, because here I am today living that dream of telling stories and creating immersive worlds. I am ever excited to see what is next for me in my artistic journey!

Philosophy:

I share a piece of my heart for every artistic creation I dream of. I revel in the beauty of empathy that storytelling allows us as artists to put into the universe. I extend an open invitation to the audience to freely indulge in their truth in humanity and emotions through my authentic process. Although the work pushes us to grow, I believe the end result should be fun for the audience, performers, and creatives.

Most importantly, I believe in bringing life into all of my art and not being bound to one medium or title. I use my art to paint characters, scenes, and entire worlds to life by being specific and detail oriented but bringing a whimsical sense of discovery to all of my designs.

As an artist, I believe that entertainment is a collaborative and exciting happening that should touch its audiences in a variety of ways: sentimentally, funny-bone tickling, thrilling, and so much more. Any kind of entertainment should not be merely spectatorship, it should be an experience.

I am proud to be an artist and to be able to express myself in any way I choose.
